The SECO 17011645 is a single-end cobalt square end mill designed for material removal in ferrous and high-temperature alloy applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it offers improved heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The 0.5 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 1 inch length of cut and a 3 inch overall length, making it well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations on machining centers and manual mills. The 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the bright uncoated finish is appropriate for use with cutting fluids or dry cutting on a range of ferrous metals. This end mill is installed and maintained by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
The 17011645 is engineered for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, K, and S. Its centercutting design permits plunge entry directly into the workpiece, expanding its usefulness across profiling, ramping, and pocket-milling operations. The regular-length geometry and 0.5 inch shank diameter suit standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style holders commonly found in job shop and production environments.
