The SECO 17010865 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this tool handles tough ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials while maintaining edge integrity under heat and load. The 3/4-inch diameter, 4-flute configuration with a 30-degree maximum helix angle and spiral flute geometry produces efficient chip evacuation during roughing passes. With a length of cut of 4.125 inches and an overall length of 6.375 inches, it suits both deep-pocket and standard-depth roughing applications. Machinists, toolroom operators, and CNC programmers working in job shops or production environments will find this tool reliable for material removal prior to finishing passes.
This end mill is suited for roughing operations on machining centers, knee mills, and CNC vertical mills where controlled chip load and tool life are priorities. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make this a standard-orientation tool compatible with conventional spindle rotation. Designed as a standard 3/4-inch shank roughing end mill for use in collet chucks, end mill holders, or milling chucks on machining centers and knee mills that accept 3/4-inch straight-shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder rated for the 3/4-inch shank diameter, and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut.
