The SECO 17010385 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat and wear resistance suited to harder workpiece materials. The 3/4 inch diameter cutter carries four right-hand spiral flutes with a maximum helix angle of 30 degrees and a 3 inch length of cut, giving machinists substantial engagement depth on roughing passes. The overall length is 5.25 inches. This is a bright, uncoated tool with a non-centercutting geometry, appropriate for peripheral roughing rather than plunge entry. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers.
This end mill is used in vertical and horizontal milling machine setups where rough stock removal is the primary objective. It is suited to ferrous and non-ferrous materials in job shop, production, and maintenance machining environments. The Series REM445 designation places it within a defined product family of roughing profile cutters. The 3/4 inch shank diameter matches the mill diameter, allowing direct chucking in standard collets or end mill holders without a step-down adapter. No coolant-through capability is present, so flood or mist coolant must be applied externally.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use roughing end mill for milling applications requiring a 3/4 inch single-end cobalt cutter with a 3/4 inch straight shank; fits standard 3/4 inch collets and end mill holders.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the milling machine spindle before seating or removing the tool from the holder. Verify that the collet or end mill holder bore matches the 3/4 inch shank diameter before torquing the drawbar or set screws. Because this cutter is non-centercutting, do not use it for direct plunge entry into solid material.
