The SECO 17010379 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat and wear resistance that holds up in harder workpiece materials where standard HSS tools fall short. The cutter measures 0.625 inches in diameter with a 1.625-inch length of cut and a 3.75-inch overall length. Its four-flute, right-hand spiral geometry and 30-degree maximum helix angle are configured for efficient chip evacuation during roughing passes. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on manual or CNC milling machines.
The 17010379 is suited for roughing cuts on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in job shop, production machining, and maintenance-repair environments. It carries a bright, uncoated finish and is intended for use without coolant-through capability. The regular-length flute type and non-variable helix design make it a straightforward drop-in for standard roughing applications where a corncob-style chipbreaker profile handles high chip loads efficiently.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard toolroom practices. Secure the shank fully in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder before operation and verify runout before cutting.
