The SECO 17010373 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in metalworking and machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat resistance and edge retention that standard HSS tooling cannot match. The 1/2 inch diameter, 4-flute spiral configuration with a 30-degree maximum helix angle produces a shearing cut that reduces chatter and extends tool life during roughing passes. With a 1.25 inch length of cut and 3.25 inch overall length, this is a regular-length tool suited for general-purpose rough milling work.

This end mill is used in job shops, production floors, and maintenance machining environments where steel, stainless, and tough alloys are the primary workpiece materials. The bright/uncoated finish makes it a reliable choice when coolant is applied externally. It is not center-cutting, so it requires a pre-drilled entry point or ramping moves for plunge operations.
