The SECO 17007777 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiAlN, it handles elevated cutting temperatures and maintains edge hardness under demanding conditions. The 3/4 inch diameter tool has a 1.625 inch length of cut and a 3-7/8 inch overall length. With 4 right-hand spiral flutes and a 30-degree maximum helix angle, it provides efficient chip evacuation during roughing passes. Center-cutting capability allows direct plunging into workpieces without a pre-drilled entry point. This end mill is used by machinists and toolroom technicians working with steel, stainless, and similar ferrous materials.
This end mill is suited for roughing operations in vertical and horizontal milling machines as well as CNC machining centers. The short flute length and rigid 3/4 inch shank minimize deflection during heavy cuts. It is appropriate for job shops and production environments where high-volume material removal is required before finish passes. The TiAlN coating extends tool life in dry or low-coolant machining setups since coolant-through is not supported on this tool.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement roughing end mill for use in standard 3/4 inch collets, end mill holders, and milling chucks on vertical mills and CNC machining centers.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the shank fully in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder before use, and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Consult machine documentation for appropriate feed and speed parameters based on workpiece material.
