The SECO 17007776 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiAlN for heat resistance and extended tool life, this end mill handles demanding cutting conditions across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 3/4 inch diameter cutter features 4 right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree maximum helix angle, a stub-length configuration, and a right-hand cutting direction. Center cutting capability allows plunge entry. The tool carries a TiAlN coating that performs well at elevated cutting temperatures without coolant-through capability required.
This roughing end mill is suited for use in manual mills and CNC machining centers in job shop, toolroom, and production environments. It is typically selected for roughing passes on steel, stainless, and other tough alloys where rapid stock removal is the priority before a finish pass. The stub flute length of 3/4 inch keeps the cutter rigid and minimizes deflection under heavy chip loads. The 3/4 inch shank fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style tool holders common in trade and industrial settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement roughing end mill for use in standard 3/4 inch end mill holders, ER collet systems, and Weldon-style tool holders. Part of the SECO REC448 series.
Installation is performed by machinists and toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Verify holder bore cleanliness and shank seating before torquing set screws or collet nuts to holder specifications. Confirm spindle rotation direction matches the right-hand cutting direction of this tool before initiating a cut.
