The SECO 17007085 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 0.1900 inch corner radius, and five flutes with a 45-degree high helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life under aggressive cutting conditions. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into the workpiece as well as perform peripheral and finishing passes. Machinists and CNC toolroom operators use this tool in production and toolroom environments where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are required.
This end mill is suited for finishing operations on ferrous and exotic alloy workpieces. The short-length-of-cut geometry and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard toolholders used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The S545R series designation places it within SECO's line of high-performance corner radius tools optimized for right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction. At 4 inches overall length with a 2 inch length of cut, it provides a balanced ratio of reach to rigidity, reducing deflection during finishing passes on steel and hardened materials.

Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine in a full stop, locked-out state per applicable shop safety and OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the straight cylindrical shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout against the stated TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch before beginning the cut. Confirm correct spindle direction (right-hand) and appropriate feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material before engaging the tool.
