The SECO 17007080 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for finishing operations in demanding materials. It features a 1 inch diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 0.0450 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations and extends tool life at part corners. With 5 flutes and a 45-degree high helix angle, it promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN PVD coating adds heat and oxidation resistance, making this tool well-suited for high-temperature cutting environments. The shank diameter is 1 inch and the overall length is 4 inches. It is designed for use in CNC machining centers with standard toolholders.
This end mill is intended for finishing passes on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its short flute configuration and single-end, center-cutting design make it effective in slotting, profiling, and contouring applications. The straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard collet and hydraulic toolholders. It is appropriate for production environments where tight tolerances and consistent surface quality are required on difficult-to-machine workpieces.
Designed for use with standard toolholders in CNC machining centers. Suitable for finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per Series S545R application guidelines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the toolholder to the recommended gauge length before torquing the retention mechanism. Verify runout does not exceed 0.0005 inch TIR before beginning the cut.
