The SECO 17007066 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in demanding materials. It features a 3/4 inch diameter, a 1-5/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.0900 inch corner radius. The five-flute geometry with a 45-degree high helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous and exotic alloys. It is single-end, centercutting, and sized with a 3/4 inch straight cylindrical shank, making it compatible with standard toolholders used in CNC machining centers.
This end mill is engineered for finishing cuts in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The S545R series is well suited to aerospace, die-mold, and precision manufacturing environments where tight tolerances and surface integrity are critical. The corner radius geometry reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, extending tool life compared to sharp-corner end mills in difficult-to-machine materials. Machinists and CNC operators working with high-hardness workpieces will find the AlTiN coating and short-length geometry especially effective for maintaining dimensional accuracy.
Designed for use with standard cylindrical-bore toolholders. Primary workpiece material compatibility includes steel (P), stainless steel (M), superalloys and titanium (S), and hard materials (H) per ISO material classification. Part of the SECO S545R series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following the toolholder manufacturer torque and runout specifications. Confirm TIR does not exceed 0.0005 inches at setup to preserve coating integrity and corner radius tolerance. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool. Avoid side-loading the shank in worn or oversized collets, as this accelerates edge wear and can compromise dimensional tolerance.
