The SECO 17007061 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal and finishing operations on hard and difficult-to-machine materials. Built to Series S545R specifications, it features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.1900 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations and extends tool life in demanding applications. The five-flute geometry paired with a 45-degree high helix delivers smooth chip evacuation and improved surface finish. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating adds heat resistance and wear protection, making this end mill well suited for dry or semi-dry cutting conditions at elevated speeds. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, aerospace, and general metalworking environments are the primary users.
This end mill is intended for finishing operations in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and other hard materials. The stub-length profile and straight cylindrical shank fit standard toolholders, making it a practical choice for close-tolerance profiling, contouring, and slotting passes where corner breakout and surface integrity are critical. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, adding flexibility to the tool path without requiring a pre-drilled entry point.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 3/4 inch shank diameter. Suitable for CNC machining centers cutting steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and other hard workpiece materials as identified by material codes P, M, S, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or removing the tool. Seat the straight cylindrical shank fully in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout against the stated TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before beginning a production run.
