The SECO 17007054 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in demanding materials. Built to Series S545R specifications, it features a 3/4 inch diameter, a 0.0150 inch corner radius, and 5 spiral flutes with a right-hand cutting direction and high helix angle of 45 degrees. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge as well as profile. Machinists and CNC programmers working in aerospace, die and mold, and general metalworking applications will find this tool suited for tight-tolerance finishing passes.
This end mill is appropriate for finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys and titanium, and hard materials. Its stub-length configuration keeps overhang minimal, improving rigidity and surface finish quality. The straight cylindrical shank accommodates standard toolholders used on CNC machining centers. With a 1 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length, it fits applications where a compact, rigid setup is required to maintain dimensional accuracy on contoured or profiled workpiece features.
Designed for use with standard cylindrical-bore toolholders on CNC machining centers. Primary workpiece material compatibility includes Steel, Stainless Steel, Superalloys and Titanium, and Hard Material, corresponding to material codes P, M, S, and H.
This tool is installed by a machinist or CNC setup technician using a compatible toolholder with a 3/4 inch bore. Confirm toolholder runout does not exceed the stated TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch before use, as excess runout accelerates edge wear and degrades surface finish. Always power down the spindle and confirm the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material being machined.
