The SECO 17007050 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in demanding metalworking applications. Built to Series S545R specifications, it features a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, five flutes, and a 0.0600 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations and extends tool life at the cutting edge. The AlTiN PVD coating provides heat resistance and wear protection, making this tool well suited for dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. The 45-degree high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, aerospace, and precision manufacturing environments will find this tool appropriate for their requirements.
This end mill is used in finishing passes on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, and the single-end configuration with a straight cylindrical shank mounts directly into standard toolholders. The 1-5/8 inch length of cut and 3-1/2 inch overall length make it suitable for moderate-depth pocketing, profiling, and contouring operations where tight tolerances are required.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 5/8 inch cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys and titanium, and hard materials (material codes P, M, S, H). Part of the SECO S545R series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before installing or removing the tool. Verify shank runout does not exceed the specified TIR maximum using a dial indicator before cutting. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder and tighten to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping procedure to avoid pullout during high-helix cutting.
