The SECO 17007047 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal and finishing operations on difficult-to-machine workpiece materials. Built to Series S545R specifications, this single-end, centercutting tool features a 0.6250-inch mill diameter, a 0.0200-inch corner radius, and five flutes arranged in a right-hand spiral configuration with a 45-degree high helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection under demanding cutting conditions. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments rely on this geometry for finishing passes requiring tight tolerances and consistent edge quality.
This end mill is suited for finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 0.6250-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material compatibility includes steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, S, and H.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup personnel. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening; verify runout does not exceed the specified TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches prior to cutting. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before any tool change. Avoid side-loading or impact entry into the workpiece, which can chip the cutting edge on carbide tooling.
