The SECO 17007046 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in finishing operations. Carrying a 5/8-inch cutting diameter and a 0.1250-inch corner radius, this single-end, five-flute tool runs in the S545R series and is designed for high-performance milling in ferrous and difficult-to-machine workpiece materials. The AlTiN PVD coating provides elevated heat resistance and wear protection, extending tool life when cutting under high-heat conditions. The 45-degree high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action, making this end mill suitable for productive finishing passes in modern CNC machining centers.
This end mill is intended for use in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials — workpiece categories coded P, M, S, and H. With a stub-length profile, a 3/4-inch length of cut, and a 3-inch overall length, it is suited for rigidity-critical setups where deflection control is important. The straight-cylindrical shank mounts in standard toolholders used in vertical and horizontal machining centers across job shops, production facilities, and aerospace or energy component manufacturing environments.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (material codes P, M, S, H).
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the toolholder. Verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005-inch TIR maximum before cutting. Follow toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping specifications; do not exceed shank diameter tolerances of -0.0001 to -0.0004 inches during fitment.
