The SECO 17007038 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in demanding materials. The tool features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 1.25 inch length of cut, and a 0.125 inch corner radius, making it well suited for contouring, profiling, and semi-finishing passes where corner integrity and surface finish are critical. Five flutes with a high-helix spiral geometry support efficient chip evacuation and reduce cutting forces. An AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection, extending tool life in abrasive and elevated-temperature cutting environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in job shops, aerospace, and energy sectors are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It is classified for finishing applications and carries a stub length profile with a 3 inch overall length and a 0.5 inch straight-cylindrical shank. The S545R series designation places it within SECO's tooling platform intended for use with compatible toolholders in precision CNC machining centers. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction are standard. No chipbreaker or coolant-through feature is present on this tool.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool path program disabled before changing or inspecting tooling. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into a compatible toolholder and verify runout against the TIR maximum specification before cutting. Follow the machine tool manufacturer's clamping torque guidelines for the toolholder type in use.
