The SECO 17007035 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in demanding materials. Built to Series S545R specifications, it features a 1/2 inch diameter with a 0.0450 inch corner radius and a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, making it well suited for maintaining tight tolerances on profiled surfaces. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal and wear resistance during cutting in hard and abrasive workpiece materials. With 5 flutes and a high-helix spiral geometry, this tool promotes efficient chip evacuation and consistent surface finish. It is a single-end, centercutting design with a straight cylindrical shank, compatible with standard toolholders used in CNC machining environments.
This end mill is intended for finishing passes in materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. The 3 inch overall length and 1/2 inch shank diameter fit common toolholder configurations found in vertical and horizontal machining centers. It is primarily used by machinists and CNC operators in precision job shops, aerospace, medical, and general metalworking environments where corner geometry and surface quality are critical to the finished part.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material codes are P (steel), M (stainless steel), S (superalloys and titanium), and H (hard material), as classified in the input data.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inch after clamping. Consult the machining center manufacturer and applicable shop safety procedures before initiating cutting operations.
