The SECO 17007034 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing in demanding machining applications. Built to the S545R series specification, it features a 0.5-inch diameter, a 0.0300-inch corner radius, and five right-hand spiral flutes with a 45-degree high helix angle. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. This single-end, centercutting tool is intended for use in CNC machining centers with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders. It is installed and operated by machinists and tooling technicians working in precision metal removal environments.
This end mill is engineered for finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The 1.25-inch length of cut and 3-inch overall length make it suited for moderate-depth profiling, contouring, and slotting passes where corner edge integrity is critical. The corner radius geometry reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and improves surface finish quality on workpiece corners. It is compatible with standard toolholders used in vertical and horizontal machining centers running normal-pitch cutting cycles.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders in CNC machining centers. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (material codes P, M, S, H).
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the 0.5-inch straight-cylindrical shank in a compatible toolholder and verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005-inch TIR maximum before cutting. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle completely before changing or seating the tool. Do not exceed the tool's rated length of cut when programming depth of pass, as overloading the flute length can cause deflection or premature edge wear.
