The SECO 17007032 is a single-end corner radius end mill ground from solid carbide and coated with AlTiN via a PVD process. It carries a 0.5-inch mill diameter, a 0.125-inch corner radius, and five right-hand spiral flutes arranged at a high 45-degree helix angle. The stub-length geometry keeps deflection low while the AlTiN coating sustains hardness at elevated cutting temperatures. This tool is engineered for finishing operations on demanding workpiece materials and is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in CNC milling applications.
The 17007032 is suited for finishing cuts in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its centercutting design allows plunge entry, and the straight-cylindrical shank mounts directly into standard toolholders. The 0.625-inch length of cut and 2.5-inch overall length make it a practical choice for shallow-to-moderate-depth finish profiling and contouring where corner-radius blending is required.
Designed for use with standard CNC toolholders accepting a 0.5-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Part of the SECO S545R series.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. De-energize and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout against the stated TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before initiating a cut. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; apply external coolant or air blast as required by the machining process.
