The SECO 17007031 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in demanding machining applications. Built to S545R series specifications, it features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 0.0900 inch corner radius, and five flutes with a high-helix, right-hand spiral configuration. The AlTiN PVD coating extends tool life when cutting at elevated temperatures. With a 5/8 inch length of cut and 2-1/2 inch overall length, this single-end, centercutting tool suits CNC machining centers running finish passes on tough materials. It weighs 0.24 pounds and ships as a single unit.
This end mill is engineered for finishing cuts on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its stub-length design and high-helix geometry reduce deflection and improve surface finish on close-tolerance features. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard toolholders, making it practical for production environments where quick changeovers are common. It is used in aerospace, die and mold, and precision part manufacturing wherever tight corner radii and superior finish quality are required.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders. Primary workpiece material categories include Steel (P), Stainless Steel (M), Superalloys and Titanium (S), and Hard Material (H) per ISO material classification codes.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the toolholder and tighten to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping procedure. Verify runout at setup using a dial indicator before beginning the cut cycle.
