The SECO 17007030 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing in demanding materials. It features a 1/2 inch diameter with a 0.0600 inch corner radius and five flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration with a 45-degree high helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous and hard materials. This is a single-end, centercutting tool with a 5/8 inch length of cut and a 2.5 inch overall length. It is installed in standard straight-cylindrical toolholders and is used by machining professionals in shop and production environments.
This end mill is suited for finishing operations in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The stub-length configuration and normal pitch make it well-suited for rigid setups where minimizing deflection is a priority. The S545R series designation identifies the geometry family. It fits into conventional toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank and is appropriate for CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped for carbide tooling.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material compatibility includes steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per SECO S545R series specifications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. The tool must be seated fully and securely in the toolholder before operation, and runout should be verified against the listed TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the tool. Do not exceed the cutter's rated depth of cut or feed parameters for the workpiece material being machined.
