The SECO 17007025 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in demanding materials. It carries a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, a 0.0150 inch corner radius, and five flutes with a 45-degree high helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness retention, making this tool suited for dry or semi-dry cutting in tough alloys. It is a single-end, centercutting tool, allowing plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, aerospace, or precision manufacturing environments will reach for this tool when surface finish and edge integrity are the priority.
This end mill is built for finishing cuts in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The 1-5/8 inch length of cut and 3-1/2 inch overall length make it appropriate for moderate-depth pockets and profiling passes where rigidity and deflection control matter. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard toolholders and is sized at 5/8 inch to match the cutting diameter. It belongs to the SECO S545R series, which targets high-feed finishing in difficult-to-machine workpiece materials common in aerospace and medical component manufacturing.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore cylindrical toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Part of the SECO S545R series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified CNC machinists or tool room personnel with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Seat the straight cylindrical shank fully in the toolholder and torque the retention hardware to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout against the maximum TIR value before cutting. Follow shop-specific feeds, speeds, and coolant procedures for the workpiece material and machine capability.
