The SECO 17007024 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.1250 inch corner radius that blends floor-to-wall transitions and reduces stress concentrations in the workpiece. The 5-flute geometry with a 45-degree high helix provides efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating delivers heat resistance and extended tool life when cutting at elevated speeds. This tool is used by machinists and tooling specialists working in CNC milling operations on ferrous and exotic alloy materials.
This end mill is engineered for finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The short flute length and rigid solid carbide construction make it well suited for applications where tool deflection must be minimized, such as profiling, contouring, and slotting in high-tolerance part programs. It is a single-end, centercutting tool with right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction, and it mounts in standard straight-bore toolholders used in VMCs and HMCs. It belongs to SECO Series S545R.
Compatible with standard straight-bore toolholders used in CNC milling machines. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (material codes P, M, S, H). Part of the SECO S545R series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is in a safe state before mounting or removing the end mill. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully and evenly in the toolholder to achieve proper runout and prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout at setup against the specified TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch before beginning a finishing pass.
