The SECO 17007011 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for finishing operations in demanding machining environments. It features a 0.5-inch diameter, a 0.015-inch corner radius, and five right-hand spiral flutes with a 45-degree high helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting hard, abrasive workpiece materials. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, allowing plunge entry as well as lateral cuts. It is sold individually and is intended for use in CNC machining centers with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders.
This end mill is engineered for finishing cuts in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The S545R series geometry and high helix design support chip evacuation in tough materials where heat and tool deflection are primary concerns. The 1.25-inch length of cut and 3-inch overall length suit it for general-purpose cavity, contour, and profile finishing on production and job-shop CNC equipment.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders. Suited for CNC milling applications in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per S545R series specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an E-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the 0.5-inch straight shank fully and evenly in the toolholder collet before torquing to the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout against the published TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before beginning a production run.
