The SECO 17007010 is a single-end, corner radius end mill ground from solid carbide and designed for demanding finishing operations in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It carries a 3/8-inch cutting diameter with a 0.0300-inch corner radius and features five flutes arranged in a right-hand spiral with a 45-degree high-helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and edge hardness suited to elevated cutting speeds. Overall length is 2.5 inches, length of cut is 1 inch, and the straight cylindrical shank diameter matches the cutting diameter at 3/8 inch. Designed as a finishing-grade tool, it removes material precisely while maintaining tight dimensional tolerances.
This end mill is built for use in CNC machining centers and milling operations where close tolerances and fine surface finish are required. Its five-flute geometry and high-helix configuration make it well suited for finishing passes on hard and difficult-to-machine materials including stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The centercutting design allows for plunge entry where needed. It seats in standard toolholders compatible with 3/8-inch straight cylindrical shanks and is catalogued under SECO series S545R.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as designated by material codes P, M, S, and H.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with CNC milling equipment. Ensure the toolholder bore is clean and within specification before seating the shank, and verify runout does not exceed the stated TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch after mounting. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; external coolant or air blast may be used based on the machining application. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when changing cutting tools.
