The SECO 17007008 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance finishing in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 3/8-inch diameter with a matching 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 2.5-inch overall length. The 0.0150-inch corner radius and 5-flute geometry reduce chatter and improve surface finish on difficult materials. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating increases heat resistance and tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The 45-degree high helix promotes efficient chip evacuation during finishing passes. Licensed machinists and toolroom operators specify this end mill for precision contouring work.
The 17007008 is designed for finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It is suited for use in CNC machining centers paired with standard toolholders. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with conventional spindle setups. The Series S545R designation identifies it within SECO's line of carbide corner radius end mills targeted at high-hardness and heat-resistant alloy cutting where tight tolerances and fine surface finishes are required.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or unloading the end mill from the toolholder. Verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches after seating in the holder. Follow the machine tool manufacturer's guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when selecting feeds, speeds, and clamping torque for the toolholder.
