The SECO 17007006 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing in demanding machining environments. It features a 3/8 inch (0.3750 inch) mill diameter, a 0.0450 inch corner radius, and five flutes with a right-hand spiral and high helix geometry. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous and exotic materials. At 2 inches overall length with a 1/2 inch length of cut, this is a stub-length tool built for rigidity and reduced deflection on tight-tolerance finishing passes. It is centercutting and accepts standard straight-cylindrical toolholders.
This end mill is suited for finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and other hard materials. The stub-length configuration makes it a practical choice for milling pockets, slots, and contoured profiles where reach is limited and rigidity is critical. It is part of the SECO S545R series, which targets high-hardness and difficult-to-machine workpiece materials in both production and job-shop environments. A licensed machinist or CNC tooling technician would typically select this tool for semifinish to finish passes requiring precise corner geometry control.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders. Suitable for CNC machining centers and milling machines accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter. Part of the SECO S545R series for finishing in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Confirm that the toolholder bore is clean and within tolerance before seating the 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005 inch TIR maximum specification before beginning a cut. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and SECO speed and feed recommendations for the specific workpiece material and coating type.
