The SECO 17007001 is a single-end, five-flute corner radius end mill designed for finishing operations in demanding materials. Built from solid carbide and coated with AlTiN via a PVD process, it handles steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials without performance drop-off. The cutting diameter is 0.3125 inches, the corner radius is 0.0450 inches, and the length of cut runs 0.8125 inches. A 45-degree high-helix geometry promotes chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup at the cutting edge. This tool is intended for use with standard cylindrical toolholders in CNC machining environments.
The 17007001 is suited to finish milling applications where corner geometry and surface finish on tough alloys are critical. Its right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation make it compatible with conventional vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers. The S545R series designation places it in a product family engineered for high-performance cutting in aerospace, die-mold, and precision machining shops where superalloys and hardened steels are common workpiece materials. The centercutting capability allows plunge entry where needed.

Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the recommended gauge-line depth before torquing the retention mechanism, and verify runout against the listed TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches using a dial indicator. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before starting the cut. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling.
