The SECO 17006999 is a single-end, corner radius end mill ground from solid carbide and coated with AlTiN via PVD process. It carries a 5/16 inch (0.3125 inch) cutting diameter with a 0.0150 inch corner radius and five right-hand spiral flutes configured at a 45-degree high helix angle. The 13/16 inch length of cut (0.8125 inch) and 2.5 inch overall length suit finishing passes in tight cavities and profiling operations. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry. This tool is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC machining centers and milling machines in precision metalworking environments.
The 17006999 is engineered for finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its AlTiN coating delivers elevated hot hardness and oxidation resistance, making it well suited for dry or minimal-lubrication cutting in high-temperature alloy applications. The straight-cylindrical, 5/16 inch shank mounts directly into standard toolholders used in CNC milling setups. The normal pitch and fixed helix geometry provide predictable chip evacuation during finish profiling and contour milling passes in production environments.

Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer specification before running. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius under magnification before first use to confirm the tool is free of chips or coating damage. Verify runout at the cutting diameter against the stated 0.0005 inch TIR maximum using a dial indicator before committing to a finishing pass.
