The SECO 17006995 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in demanding materials. With a 5/16-inch (0.3125-inch) mill diameter, a 0.0150-inch corner radius, and 5 flutes, it delivers smooth surface finishes and precise edge geometry where sharp corners would otherwise chip or wear prematurely. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness retention at elevated cutting temperatures, making this tool well suited for aggressive finishing cuts in hard and difficult-to-machine materials. It is sized for direct use in standard straight-shank toolholders at 5/16-inch shank diameter.
This end mill is intended for finishing passes on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials in both CNC machining centers and manual milling setups. Its stub-length configuration — 7/16-inch length of cut, 2-inch overall length — provides rigidity in tight-clearance applications. The high-helix design promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces in deep pockets and slots. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool with right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction, appropriate for conventional CNC finishing work.
Designed for use with standard straight-shank toolholders accepting a 5/16-inch shank diameter. Suitable for CNC machining centers and milling machines running finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated per shop safety procedures. Ensure the toolholder bore is clean and free of chips before seating the shank; contamination will affect runout and tool life. Maximum TIR for this tool is 0.0005 inch — verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping. Do not exceed the rated length of cut of 7/16 inch during any single pass.
