The SECO 17006992 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for finishing operations in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It features a 0.25-inch mill diameter, a 0.020-inch corner radius, and five flutes with a high-helix, right-hand spiral configuration. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in high-heat cutting environments. This single-end, centercutting tool is suited for machinists and CNC operators running toolpaths that require a controlled corner blend with tight radius tolerances.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines where a precise corner radius profile is required on ferrous and exotic alloy workpieces. With a 0.75-inch length of cut and a 2.5-inch overall length, it fits standard toolholder setups in both job shop and production environments. The straight cylindrical shank interfaces directly with collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and hydraulic chucks sized for 0.25-inch shanks. It is part of the SECO S545R series, which targets finishing passes on difficult-to-machine materials.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended gauge length and tighten to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque procedure. Verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005-inch maximum TIR before beginning a cut.
