The SECO 17006985 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for finishing operations in demanding machining environments. It carries a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) diameter with a 0.0200 inch corner radius and five right-hand spiral flutes with a 45-degree high helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting hard or abrasive workpiece materials. With a 9/16 inch (0.5625 inch) length of cut and a 2 inch overall length, this tool is sized for precision finish passes in tight features and contoured profiles. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this type of end mill in standard straight-cylindrical toolholders.
This end mill is suited for finishing steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and other hard materials in both conventional and high-performance CNC milling applications. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry, and the single-end configuration keeps the tool compact for use in confined workspaces. The S545R series designation places it within a geometry family optimized for high-heat, high-hardness applications where coating adhesion and edge stability are critical.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders. Intended for CNC milling machines running finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Part of the SECO S545R series.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom personnel. Secure the shank fully in a clean, undamaged collet or toolholder to the manufacturer-specified clamping depth before running. Verify runout against the listed TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch after tool seating. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for damage before each use; do not run a chipped or delaminated end mill.
