The SECO 17006984 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for finishing operations in demanding machining environments. It features a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) diameter with a 0.0200 inch corner radius and five flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration with a high-helix angle of 45 degrees. The AlTiN PVD coating extends tool life when cutting ferrous and high-temperature alloys. With a 5/16 inch length of cut and 2 inch overall length, this short-length tool delivers rigidity and precision at the cutting edge. It is single-end and centercutting, allowing plunge entry and finish passes in a single setup.
This end mill is suited for finishing passes on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The S545R series geometry is optimized for high-performance milling in CNC machining centers using standard straight-cylindrical toolholders. It is a fit for toolrooms, production shops, and aerospace or medical component machining where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are required. The 3/16 inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter, keeping the tool profile consistent for close-tolerance work.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders. Compatible with CNC machining centers and milling machines accepting a 3/16 inch shank diameter. Intended for finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per material codes P, M, S, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC tooling and holder runout requirements. Confirm toolholder bore cleanliness and clamp torque per toolholder manufacturer specifications before use. TIR maximum for this tool is 0.0005 inch — verify runout at setup to maintain tolerance. Coolant through is not supported; apply flood or mist coolant externally as required by the workpiece material.
