Product Description

The SECO 17005008 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for demanding material removal in carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) applications. Part of the DIAL430 series, it features a CVD diamond coating that delivers exceptional abrasion resistance when cutting highly abrasive composite materials. The cutter measures 0.25 inches in diameter with a 1.25-inch length of cut and a 3-inch overall length. Its 4-flute, spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation while maintaining surface finish quality. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the rigidity and edge retention required for high-speed composite machining. This tool is sold as a single-end design.

This end mill is primarily intended for machining CFRP and other abrasive composite materials in aerospace, automotive, and advanced manufacturing environments. The CVD diamond coating makes it well suited for applications where uncoated or conventionally coated carbide tools wear prematurely. The centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as peripheral milling operations. A right-hand cut with right-hand flute direction and straight shank make it compatible with standard CNC machining center and router toolholders. Installation Notes
