The SECO 17004996 is a single-end ball end mill engineered for precision material removal in both roughing and finishing operations. Built from solid carbide and coated with a CVD diamond finish, this tool is designed for machining highly abrasive materials including graphite, carbon fiber composites, and nonferrous alloys where tool life and edge integrity are critical. The mill measures 0.0313 inches (1/32 inch) in diameter with a 3/32-inch length of cut, a 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank, and a 1.5-inch overall length. The 30-degree medium helix angle and four-flute spiral configuration support efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality in tight tolerance environments.
This end mill is suited for CNC milling applications in precision manufacturing, aerospace component work, and tooling production where fine-feature geometry is required. The DIAB430 series is built for shops running hard, abrasive, or high-silicon materials that would rapidly wear uncoated or TiN-coated tooling. The small diameter and standard-length profile make it a fit for micro-milling fixtures and die/mold detail work. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle operation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit cutting tool for CNC machining centers accepting a 1/8-inch straight shank, used in applications requiring the SECO DIAB430 series specification. Manufacturers catalog number DIAB430-0.031-F3-B.0-Z4.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing tooling. Seat the shank fully into a precision collet or toolholder and torque to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout does not exceed the 0.0050-inch TIR maximum before initiating a cut to avoid premature edge failure at this diameter.
