The SECO 17004990 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling in composite materials, particularly carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP). Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with a CVD diamond finish, this tool is engineered to handle the abrasive cutting demands that standard carbide tooling cannot sustain. It runs a 4-flute spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle and right-hand cut with right-hand flutes. The 0.25 inch diameter and 0.75 inch length of cut make it well suited for shallow-to-medium depth passes in tight-tolerance applications. This end mill belongs to SECO's DIA430 series, which targets non-ferrous and composite workpiece materials where CVD diamond coating delivers significant tool life advantages over uncoated or PVD-coated alternatives. The 0.25 inch straight shank fits standard collet chucks and tool holders used on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
