The SECO 17004769 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in hardened materials and steel. Built on SECO's MZ645 series, this single-end mill features a 0.125-inch cutting diameter, six spiral flutes, and a 45-degree helix angle that promotes aggressive chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and hardness, making this tool well suited for dry or semi-dry machining at elevated cutting speeds. Micrograin carbide substrate adds toughness and edge retention. It is center-cutting, right-hand cut, with a straight cylindrical shank measuring 0.25 inches in diameter and a 3-inch overall length.
This end mill is engineered for machining hardened materials and steel in precision milling applications. The 0.375-inch length of cut and 0.38-inch reach length make it appropriate for shallow-to-moderate depth passes in die and mold work, toolroom operations, and production milling where tight tolerances and surface finish matter. A 0.005-inch maximum TIR specification reflects the close tolerances held on this tool. It is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills with appropriate spindle speeds and feed rates for the workpiece material.
