The SECO 17004723 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from solid carbide with a TiCN coating, it delivers the wear resistance and thermal stability required for high-feed roughing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The 3/4 inch diameter, 3-flute, coarse-pitch geometry produces a chip-breaking action that reduces cutting forces and heat buildup during heavy stock removal. With a 1.625 inch length of cut and 4 inch overall length, it fits standard milling chucks and collet holders used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. Installation is performed by machinists and tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for roughing operations in CNC and manual milling applications where rapid material removal is the priority. The coarse pitch and right-hand spiral flute geometry help evacuate chips efficiently, reducing the risk of recutting in deep pocketing or slotting passes. Its center-cutting capability allows for plunge entry. The TiCN coating improves surface hardness and lubricity compared to uncoated carbide, extending tool life in steel, stainless, and cast iron applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for 3/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank milling chucks, collet holders, and end mill adapters used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
This tool is installed and changed by machinists or tooling technicians. Always power down the spindle and engage the machine lock before changing end mills. Verify shank runout with an indicator after seating in the holder, as shank diameter tolerance is held to -0.0001 to -0.0004 inches. Use appropriate torque for the holder type per the toolholder manufacturer specification, not values from this product alone.
