The SECO 17004670 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from solid carbide with a TiAlN coating, it handles high-heat cutting conditions that standard HSS tooling cannot sustain. The 1/2 inch diameter, four-flute design with a fine pitch and right-hand spiral flutes produces a controlled chip load across a 5/8 inch length of cut. The Weldon flat shank provides a positive drive connection in set-screw tool holders, reducing pull-out risk under heavy feeds. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this end mill for roughing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces in CNC milling and manual vertical mill applications.
