The SECO 17003789 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. Part of the SB335 series, it features a 1/4 inch diameter ball nose, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 35-degree medium helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating improves heat resistance and tool life when cutting ferrous and high-temperature alloys. With three flutes and a right-hand cutting and flute direction, this single-end mill supports both roughing and finishing operations. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops or production environments rely on this geometry for accurate contour milling and 3D profiling.
This end mill is intended for use in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces, corresponding to material codes P, M, and S. The straight-cylindrical 1/4 inch shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders. At 2.5 inches overall length with a standard length type and no extended reach or chipbreaker, it suits typical shallow-to-moderate depth milling passes. It is suited for CNC machining centers running at speeds and feeds appropriate for solid carbide tooling in hard and abrasion-resistant materials.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines with standard 1/4 inch collet chucks or end mill holders. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Part of the SECO SB335 series; catalog number SB335-0.250-D3-B.0-Z3.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or changing tooling. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully and evenly in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the tool holder specification. Verify runout against the TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before beginning a cutting operation.
