The SECO 17003782 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Part of the SB335 series, it features a 5/32-inch (0.1563-inch) mill diameter, a 3-flute spiral configuration, and a 35-degree medium helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating improves heat resistance and tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. At 2 inches overall length with a 5/16-inch length of cut, this is a short-length, single-end geometry suited for precision profiling and contouring work in tight setups.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling applications where close-tolerance profiling, slotting, or finishing passes are required on ferrous and high-strength alloy workpieces. The 3/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and ER-style toolholding systems. It is sized for short-reach applications and handles both roughing and finishing material removal in a single tool. Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Ensure the 3/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the collet or toolholder before initiating any cut. Verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches after mounting to maintain dimensional accuracy and tool life. Always confirm cutting parameters against the workpiece material class before engaging the tool.
