The SECO 17003637 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for milling operations in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Part of the Series AB245, this single-end tool features a 3/8 inch diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 45-degree high helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation in softer materials. With a bright/uncoated finish and right-hand cutting and flute direction, it is suited for both roughing and finishing passes. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops and production environments rely on this end mill for accurate, repeatable results in light-alloy workpieces.
This end mill is intended for use in aluminum and non-ferrous materials, making it well suited for aerospace components, automotive parts, and general fabrication work where clean surface finishes and tight tolerances are required. The 45-degree helix style supports aggressive material removal while maintaining control during finishing cuts. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard tool holders and collet chucks used in vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual knee mills.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production end mill for use in machining centers, CNC mills, and manual milling machines equipped with straight-cylindrical collet chucks or end mill holders accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece material code N covers aluminum and non-ferrous alloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following the machine tool manufacturer's tooling guidelines. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or changing tooling. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware per the tool holder manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout does not exceed the TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before beginning a cut.
