The SECO 17003627 is a single-end square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (Titanium Aluminum Nitride), it delivers excellent heat resistance and wear life at elevated cutting speeds. The tool features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 3.25 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length, making it well suited for deep-pocket and long-reach applications. Five spiral flutes with a 45-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled start hole.
This end mill is designed for machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, aerospace, die-mold, and general manufacturing environments. It performs across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and hardened materials. The long-length configuration and AlTiN coating make it a practical choice when tool overhang and heat buildup are primary concerns. It belongs to the SECO Series S545 and is sold as a single-unit item.
Designed for use in standard straight-shank toolholders with a 1 inch bore. Rated for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and hardened materials per SECO material codes P, M, K, S, N, and H. Part of the SECO Series S545 long-length end mill family.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician familiar with rotating cutting tool safety. Secure the 1 inch straight shank in a compatible toolholder to the appropriate clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout does not exceed the rated TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before commencing a cut. This tool is not configured for coolant-through delivery; external coolant or air blast should be directed at the cutting zone as required by the application.
