The SECO 17003623 is a single-end square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding shop environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide and finished with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, it delivers hardness and heat resistance suited for aggressive cuts. The tool features a 3/4 inch diameter cutting face, a 4 inch length of cut, and a 45-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable tool engagement. With 5 spiral flutes in a right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration, it is centercutting capable, allowing plunge entry. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers specify this tool for production and job shop applications.
This end mill is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and hardened materials. The Series S545 designation places it within SECO's lineup of general-purpose solid carbide end mills suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. The straight shank with 3/4 inch diameter fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders found on vertical machining centers, horizontal mills, and manual knee mills. It is particularly well-suited for shops running ISO material groups P, M, K, S, N, and H.
Compatible with ISO workpiece material groups P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), S (high-temp alloy), N (aluminum and non-ferrous), and H (hardened materials). Fits any 3/4 inch straight-shank toolholder including ER32, ER40, Weldon, and hydraulic chuck systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before seating or removing the tool. Verify toolholder runout against the stated TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before committing to a production run. Follow your facility's tooling procedures and the machine manufacturer's guidelines for clamping torque and tool projection length.
