The SECO 17003621 is a single-end, square-profile carbide end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding shop environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN, it handles elevated cutting temperatures and abrasive workpiece materials without rapid edge breakdown. The tool runs a 5-flute geometry with a 45-degree helix and spiral flute configuration, giving it a strong balance of chip evacuation and surface finish capability. At 0.75 inches in diameter with a 2.25-inch length of cut and a 5.0-inch overall length, it fits standard milling setups where reach and rigidity both matter. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users.
This end mill is engineered for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and hardened materials. It belongs to SECO Series S545, which is built around tough, multi-material milling applications. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional CNC vertical and horizontal milling centers. The straight shank diameter of 0.75 inches seats directly into standard ER or end mill holders without adapters in most setups.
Designed as an OEM-specification replacement or direct-application end mill for CNC vertical and horizontal milling centers accepting a 0.75-inch straight shank. Suitable for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and hardened materials per SECO Series S545 application data.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank fully in a clean, properly sized end mill holder or collet chuck and torque to the holder manufacturer specification before spindle engagement. Inspect the tool and holder interface for runout against the stated TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before production cutting. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before any tool change or holder adjustment.
