The SECO 17003620 is a single-end square end mill from the S545 series, designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide with a TiAlN (AlTiN) coating, this tool delivers hardness, heat resistance, and wear life suited to production cutting. It features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1.625 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length. The 45-degree spiral flute geometry and 5-flute configuration promote chip evacuation and surface finish quality on ferrous and non-ferrous materials alike. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard.
This end mill is rated for use across a broad range of primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and hardened materials. The centercutting design allows plunge milling in addition to peripheral and slot cutting operations. The straight 3/4 inch shank fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills. It is suited for job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms running general-purpose and high-demand applications.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling option for applications requiring a 3/4 inch straight-shank square end mill in ER collet chucks, hydraulic toolholders, or side-lock holders. Part of the SECO S545 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Confirm shank seating depth meets toolholder manufacturer minimums to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Do not exceed the toolholder runout limit — the maximum TIR for this tool is stated at 0.0005 inches, so verify toolholder condition before use.
