The SECO 17003613 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision metal removal in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it delivers hardness and heat resistance needed when cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. The tool features a 0.5 inch cutting diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 45-degree spiral flute helix angle that promotes chip evacuation and surface finish quality. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tool-and-die professionals running milling machines or machining centers.
This end mill is suited for high-performance milling applications across a broad range of workpiece materials including ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, and hardened materials. Its centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, making it useful for slot milling, profiling, and pocket operations. The straight 0.5 inch shank fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders common in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The long-length configuration with a 4 inch overall length provides reach in deeper cavities where standard-length tools cannot access.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or removing the tool. Ensure the shank is fully seated in the toolholder to the recommended gauge line before torquing the retention mechanism. Confirm runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches after tool mounting to avoid premature wear or tool failure.
