The SECO 17003602 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance milling across a broad range of workpiece materials. Built on the Series S545 platform, it features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 45-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. The five-flute geometry provides a balance of chip clearance and surface finish quality. An AlTiN coating delivers elevated heat and wear resistance, extending tool life in demanding ferrous and high-temperature alloy applications. This is a single-end tool with a straight shank, sized for use in standard CNC machining centers and manual mills operating in professional shop environments.
The 17003602 is suited for slotting, peripheral milling, and profiling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and hardened materials. Its long-length classification and 4 inch overall length make it appropriate for applications requiring extended reach into pockets or along tall workpiece walls. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard. This tool is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production and job-shop settings.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 3/8 inch straight shank. Compatible with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and hardened materials per Series S545 application designations P, M, K, S, N, and H.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists. Secure the shank in a collet or end mill holder, verifying runout does not exceed the maximum TIR specification before cutting. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or removing the tool. Do not exceed recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material and coating type, as AlTiN coatings perform best at elevated speeds and should not be run with flood coolant on certain high-temp alloys unless the machine setup is confirmed appropriate.
