The SECO 17003600 is a single-end square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (Aluminum Titanium Nitride), it delivers strong wear resistance and heat tolerance across a broad range of workpiece materials. The tool features a 5-flute, 45-degree helix spiral flute geometry with centercutting capability, allowing plunge entry as well as conventional and climb milling. At 0.375 inches in diameter with a 0.5-inch length of cut and 2-inch overall length, it fits the stub length category and suits applications where rigidity and reduced tool deflection are priorities.
This end mill is rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and hardened materials. It is a straight-shank, right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool in the SECO S545 series. Typical applications include profiling, slotting, and finishing passes in CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are required in shop, job, and production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide end mill replacement within the SECO S545 series, suitable for use with standard 3/8-inch collet chucks, ER collets, and end mill holders in CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Verify collet or holder bore diameter matches the 0.375-inch shank before securing. Follow machine manufacturer torque guidelines when tightening the collet nut, and confirm tool runout against the specified TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before beginning a cut.
