The SECO 17003595 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN for heat and wear resistance, it runs a 5-flute, 45-degree helix spiral configuration that promotes efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. The 5/16-inch diameter and 13/16-inch length of cut make it well suited for slotting, profiling, and finishing passes where tight tolerances and rigidity matter. This tool is centercutting and right-hand cut with a right-hand flute orientation, making it compatible with standard CNC and manual milling setups.
This end mill is intended for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and hardened materials. It fits production and job-shop environments running vertical machining centers, CNC mills, or knee mills where a compact, high-performance carbide tool is required. The straight shank and 2-1/2-inch overall length allow straightforward installation in standard collet chucks and tool holders. The Series S545 designation places it within a SECO product family optimized for general-purpose and multi-material milling applications.
Designed for use in standard straight-shank collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 5/16-inch shank. Primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, S, N, and H cover steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temp alloy, aluminum and non-ferrous, and hardened materials respectively.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician using a calibrated collet chuck or end mill holder torqued per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Before tool changes, confirm the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005-inch TIR maximum after seating the shank to full engagement depth. Do not use this tool in setups where coolant-through capability is required, as this series does not support internal coolant delivery.
